Does anyone have the Emerald 116 and to you think $250 is a good price for one that hasn't been used much? (so they tell me) How does it work for quilting?

Why has it not been used much and why is it up for sale? You would be better off with one of the older model Singers. You only need good straight stitching for quilting. I doubt if the Emerald 116 can deliver what you really need. I used to sell them. The current model low priced Singers were easier to sell. Good luck.

It is at an estate sale, so probably an older woman had it and didn't use it as much as she thought. The sale is Friday so I won't see it until then. I also considered buying it for my granddaughter who wants to start sewing.

Check out the prices on ebay for it. Honestly, it sounds a tad high for a second hand, non-computerized, basic machine.
