Today I bought a Viking Husqvarna 64 60 at a local thrift shop for $50, it did not come with cords or pedals or any acessories but I couldn't resist. This machine is so pretty! I came home and bought the power cord and pedal and manual on ebay, expensive but I think worth it. I can't wait for the stuff to come in the mail so I can see what else I need to buy for my new baby. Is this a hole in the table to dump more money into? Are there cams to go with it? Does anybody here have one or know about them? My hubby has motorcycles, I think my machines cost less than his! :D

I have a friend who used to sell the HV's, but is retired now. She brought one to our quilting class to use when we meet and need an extra machine. It looks like yours, but don't know if it is a 64. Tell me what you specifically need to know and I'll see if they can help.

Thanks to all who replied. I downloaded a manual and have been reading, this answered most of my questions. The internet is truely wonderful, all the info in the world at your fingertips.

I own this one and the 6430. They are work horses. An Excellent buy. You may want to have it serviced before extensive use there are some parts that become brittle with age. This machine was produced in the 1970's. My favorite feature is the speed reducer... pull the bobbin filler out and it drops to a lower gear and make it easy for consistent slow speeds. It should be explained in the operators manual.

I have one in white that I got in 1974. It was a wonderful machine. My youngest daughter has it now.
