I have had this machine for years, trying to change the needle and cannot get the new needle to move up into position where it should be. Have changed numerous needles and have never had this problem

Is the screw that holds the needle in place fully loosened off? I've had a problem in the past with a needle (different machine) when the screw wasn't as loose as I thought it was. Good luck!

I had a problem on a machine with the little screw getting slightly bent and it would not unscrew enough to get the needle into position.

Melony, I have the Mega Quilter and have the same problem at times. It just seems like its a fluke and if I keep trying it will finally get up where it belongs. I finally bought a dental mirror so I could see up there. And welcome to the board. Not many people spell their name as you do, but that's how I spelled my daughter's.

Make sure you have the groove facing the right way.
