does anyone here use vintage chenille for sewing?
|
Only for jackets, not for quilting.

I have a good bit and was wondering if anyone would be interested in any of it? It is all cotton - Kris

It makes very cute Teddy Bears too!!!

Kris, chenille is awesome for pillows.

I'm currently wearing an old, old pinkish rose colored chenille house coat that was my Mother's. It is still holding up nicely, and is probably at least from the 50s. She rarely wore it because it is so warm, she used to spend cold weather in Yuma so it is still good for a long time.
It makes nice pillows for actual use on the sofa, and of course would be nice as a lap robe, especially backed with fleece to match it. That would be really warm!! |
I made this one for my mom. I love vintage chenille, and have made several baby quilts with it.

I would love to make a chenille baby quilt :D:D:D

Jeanequilts, I just looked at your Mom's quilt and love it!
And I loved it in June too b/c I posted on it :D:D:D |
I'd love a pieced throw if it's anything except plain white. I am in a nostalgic mood lately. My Grandma had a lot of chenille.
