Virginia Quilt Museum

I just got back from a trip to Virginia wine country with my DH. While we were in Harrisonburg we (yes, he actually came in with me even though I gave him the option of doing something else!) went to the Quilt Museum where we saw an exhibit of Hazel McDowell Carter's quilts. They were lovely. Her work was entirely hand sewn and appliqued. There is also a permanent exhibit of some Civil War quilts and antique sewing machines, which really fascinated my DH. Unfortunately, they have a strict no photo policy, so I don't have anything to post with this. We also went into a couple fabric shops and found some great stuff.

We also went to a few vineyards where we sampled some great (and some not so great) wines! :p

I live in the Harrisonburg area, and yes, our Quilt Museum is wonderful. Some of the quilts in there are just breath taking.
You probably found Patchwork Plus out at the Dayton's Farmers Market. Fun place too.
