Back in and ready to go. Going to keep it simple. Looking forward to some good photos of accomplishments of the rest of the VQW gang. Thanks, Raggiemom for hosting us all again.

Howdy all, I've been missing my virtual quilters.

I'm sort of in-between projects right now, after my break from sewing and the boards, I did recently get the Bonnie Hunter Grassy Creek mystery done. This past week I was tossed a lovely UFO at my Tuesday group. The UFO turned out to be a beautiful Judy Niemeyer Feathered Star that was virtually complete -- but there was a small error and a whole lot of paper to remove! I have the top put back together and I wish to offer the top back to the original family (friends of one of my Tuesday ladies).

We have (sadly) another comfort quilt to make, my blocks were going to be my project for the weekend. Our most recent Tuesday lady has great sewing and handwork skills but considers herself a beginning quilter, she is going to come over next week for a work party for the comfort blocks and I will wait to do them with her. I think I should spend my time this virtual weekend working on home and stash clean up. That way you get to spread out the fabric and explode the boxes all over the house more satisfactorily :)

Plus, my kitchen floor has gotten to the point where even I want to wash it!

Sew well, fellow quilters.

Thank you Heather. Perfect weekend for me to participate...DH is going to care for his 100 yr old mother this weekend and we’re getting a nor’ easter. I have two quilts that need binding and have started a king size quilt for our bed, part of it is up on my design wall.

Iceblossom, I like your cleaning strategy...clean up before you can happily make another mess. 🤪

Elizabeth, I appreciate the idea of keeping it simple this VQW and WMUTeach has a nice list as well.

Hello VQW'ers, thank you Heather for once again hosting this powerful weekend. Just a little sorry that I am unable to join-in again, but this weekend I am visiting my adult grandson in Kansas, I flew in and was not able to bring the FW with me. But, next month I plan on being back on track and can join in. So, I beg for lots of pretty pix from you VQW'ers.

Enjoy, sew-a-plenty, and stay safe

We are having gorgeous weather this week, so will spend as many hours outdoors as I can, but I have my machine set up and am working on and off at putting sashings on all the Quiltville leader/ender blocks I have stitched up. Always enjoy seeing and hearing what everyone is working on.

Yay! I've been waiting for this weekend for two weeks! I'm feeling great and have lots planned this weekend, especially since it's going to be cool, rainy, drizzly and just plain yucky https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/eek.png.

Today, I'm going to be straightening up my corner and getting my sewing machine ready. I finally found a back motor cover for my old girl that has two spool pins on it, been looking for one of those for about a year and one popped up on Ebay. I'll be cleaning and oiling her up after I get the back cover on and load up some bobbins with black thread.

Then, starting tomorrow, I'm going to finally start work on my niece's quilt, I'm doing the Jagged X quilt, black background with a garden themed jelly roll (Artisan Batiks,Garden Style by Lunn Studios for Robert Kaufman, in case anyone is interested), so lots of blues, greens, pinks, reds and purples for the 'X's. I've got the Pond Ripples quilt stencil, my niece and her husband bow-fish, so I'm calling the quilt 'Fishin' in the Dark' - the X's kind of reminds me of crosshairs on a bow and what they might look like from underwater.

Cut down tomorrow morning, piecing starts in the afternoon and I'm going to film it and put it on my YouTube channel. I've had a lot of requests from my family to start showing the process more, I've just been posting pictures on my personal Facebook page and tagging them in the process.

Thank you again, Heather, for hosting - can't wait to get this weekend started!! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/biggrin.png

Love, love, LOVE your baskets! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/heart.gif Just beautiful!

Progress report: taking a break from cleaning and organizing the garage and hope to have my basting table cleaned up and set up in there by tonight. I might have to go to Lowe's and buy some foam insulation sheets - they're easier for this old gal to handle than the OSB plywood. :)

That's terrific! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/thumbup.png Which old girl is it?

I've got to replace the brushes in my favorite old girl (15-91) and hope that fixes the problem. If not, I'm going to have to find a place to buy a reconditioned potted motor. That's got to wait for now, though - basting quilts first! ;)
