Yes, and it's only 1/2 the year which is why I'm wondering just what was I thinking???? LOL

The design flips around starting in July, so it will end up looking like concentric diamonds (trip around the world???).

whew! I got the top piecing complete. Now I just have to piece the backing fabric to get the right size

don't think I'll make it this time. Got home about midnight Friday from a 4 day train trip to St. Louis with 3 & 9yr old g-boys--and the 3yo had been with us for the week before that. then their parents and my daughter & SIL here for the weekend--birthdays & the 4th. all just left about noon and DH and I can hardly move! Still laundering bedding. And I have new job stuff to do all day tomorrow--starting a part time job as water wellness instructor at local medical center. Means my physical exercise will increase by about 400%! Hope that means I'll lose weight. Only quilting I'll be doing tomorrow will be on a small table topper(??) that is my panel challenge for local guild--tried a Ricky Tims Convergence but without instructions--didn't converge well!

Yes, I use a serpentine stitch. Butt the edges of the batting pieces together and stitch across the join. Serpentine holds well, but a zigzag also works in a pinch. The key is not to overlap the batting - just butt the edges together, so you don't get a ridge.

What kristakz said, and just be sure your pieces are the same length. If they're not, you'll get a wavy result and have to unsew it or cut it and redo. (Ask me how I know.)

Thank you, oksewglad... I kind of gave up on the bee before Mama passed away because I found a pattern for a quilt that kept me plenty busy making scrappy blocks, and I didn't have the oomph for both.
