I just stumbled upon this thread, so this will be my first Virtual Quilting Weekend.
I will be working on another block for my oldest UFO, a New York Beauty. I got the center done years ago, couldn't decide what I wanted to do for a border, and put it away (about 15 years ago, eek!) Now I've decided what I want to do and I need to make 31 more blocks plus construct the border. After I finish today's block I will select the fabric for the next block. I will also continue to work on my 3.5 inch Ribbon Star blocks. I have a little pile of half-square triangles to square up then I have to find just the "right" fabric for the centers of this batch. |
New York Beauty is on my bucket list!
I'm working on my "My Small World" quilt this weekend. Been working on the sky so I can get done with the small blue squares. |
Oh, what a lot of lovely projects that are being worked on this weekend. It really helps a newbie get ideas of what can be done with fabric. My fiber creativity has always been with weaving and making fabric vs. working with finished fabric. It is quite different in the way that color and patterns come together.
Here is today's discovery as I venture more deeply into quilting: having a beautiful, tight and balanced stitch makes it a royal PITA to rip out! I have managed 5 treadled curved lines on my sandwich and have had to remove portions of 2 of them when they went wonky. So its a learning curve on curves! LOL |

As promised, here is my new cabinet. A facebook find and it now holds my quilting rulers, thread and cutting dies.
Still not trusting my vision enough to sew today... |
That is a GREAT cabinet... for all your flat things. I would love to have one.

Wow! Lots getting done! I've spent the entire day at the barn flyspraying the horses and getting stocked up on senior feed for our 30 yr. old, nearly toothless, one-eyed horse. Don't know what the temps are where ya'll are, but here in central VA it's over 90 and high humidity. Just got home and need a nap then I want to finish up the last 8 days worth of June temps for my temp quilt.
