Love your piggie in your avatar!
We saw one similar to that one in Paducah several years ago. Not a job I want to take on, but fun to look at.
Those are too funny!
Amazing! Pretty colors!
B oth of those are pretty neat looking.. It also made me think about once when I was driving an18 wheeler I passed a nam that was driving an old clunker that really needed some work but he had taken carpet squares and completly carpeted the roof of his car and lots of the ends were flapping in the wind. Often wondered if he got where he was going
I saw one a few years back that was in the Atlanta area. It even showed the occupants in the "car" , all quilty ladies!
I saw one many years ago- don't recall the show but it probably was Vermont Quiltfest or Lancaster. A vibrantly dressed vivacious lady was quite proud to show her quilted car from Florida. I loved it! Flaps over the headlights, screens over the windows, and even a sunroof. She'd asked Guild members for their unwanted blocks. made large sections, and used a Lot of velcro. Apparently quite a sensation when going through toll booths! I was surprised when she said she'd been driving it around (thinking of bug splatter) but she said she just tossed the parts in the washer!

What a novel idea.
Wow...lol...too cute...
Well, to each her own, I guess. That's a lot of work, and a lot of fabric! But I'm pretty sure I'd smile if I saw one.
OMG...That takes me back to high school days. A friend had a VW and we epoxyied fabric to hers!!
ha ha !!
Nothing but unique !! |
We made a quilted van several years ago - here are pictures - http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...rs-t22705.html
The van has been driven in several parades, displayed at Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show, displayed outside Fabric Depot and in the local fair. We haven't used it in a while, not sure whether it will be at Sisters this year or not. |
That's so funny! We should all have those as car covers, I love it!! Oh how much material I would need to cover my SUV?!!! Hahaha
Dunster, that is great too! Yes, we should all have these for our cars :-) |
cute but don't know if I would want to try it
My thought is they look nice but why waste material on a car cover???? Make a quilt for a child, homeless person, cancer patient. Just my thought
It is certainly unique, but like the others, I would not want to tackle that kind of a job. Thanks for sharing.
Somebody has waaaaaaayyy too much fabric.
Saw it last year at the Portland Quilt show. That is really thinking out of the block. Hope they have it again this weekend at the show at the Expo.
Love the VW and quilting. I think it could be made just for me!
Some one has too much time on their hands! I can hardly find time for my regular quilting let alone time to make a buggy quilt for a sweet little VW bug. Tee- Hee! Three cheers for creativity.
No, but I have seen others online before.

I've never seen one. It made me laugh out loud. Talk about taking quilting to the extreme. Thanks for sharing.

Fuzzy
Thanks. He was the greatest little piggie ever! I had him for about 7 years.
