Ok, know this is a stupid question but since I don't have a manual for my (new to me) Singer 128, I have a question. First, is it suppose to have a foot pedal? There's a place in the Bentwood top for what looks like a foot pedal. I do have the knee bar that fits into the hole in the case.

I am also missing the power cord. Does anyone out there have a power cord for the Singer 128? And, I also need a manual...free pdf is fine with me.

My 1952 128 has a foot pedal. The power cord and the foot pedal cord are wired into the motor, not plugged in.

I printed my manual free from SewClassic.com Ismacs has it, too.

Thanks, from inspecting my 128, I finally realized that this was the way the power cord is attached. Do you think the motor has to be opened to wire it into the motor?

I'm sure it does. You could ask in the vintage machine thread to talk to someone who's done it.

I thought the knee bar is what controls the motor and makes the machine run on these old machines. I may be wrong. Your best bet is to contact Billy in the vintage sewing machine section.

What year is your machine? I have a 1947 version and it has a foot pedal and no knee control.

My 126 was made in 1926 and my 128 was made in 1923. I'm using the 128 for parts.

I just don't know enough yet! LOL
