You can count on me for a west coast version in future years.

:D

Same here! West Coasters...

Billy, depending on the date I'll be glad to help with some of the details. Petit Jean would be nice for the campers and space in the lodge. Some might not realize Amtrak comes through Little Rock as an alternative to driving/flying.

Well, be sure you count me in for a West Coast version of a VSMS Retreat!! My DH wants to meet you, Billy, and talk vintage cars....also his passion!! If it's close enough, we can even drive our '62 Bird!!

Wow, this sounds like fun, we need to all work together and set up cool meet and greets around the world for all of us to enjoy.

I can set them in Indiana, USA

I'm up for anything close to Central Arkansas! :)

I would be interested too if it ends up in AR.
I live near Kansas City and would be willing to share a ride/gas with anyone coming from my direction...KS/MO

Of course, that is if the timing works...

I'll be in the Memphis area the end of Oct. first part of Nov. If it is during that time I'd love to come.

I live in Jefferson City MO and may be interested depending on the date. If you don't get someone in your local area to ride along.

Any word yet on when and where?

Quilt Mom 08-03-2011 11:54 AM

Hmmmm...

It looks like this summer is out for a retreat, what with the snake bite and all. Since you are retiring, maybe you could start thinking in terms of next spring/summer... I would be interested in attending. But like other 'old folks', I would need to find a place with AC if it is in a hot area

Count me in for next Spring. We travel with OU Football Team to away games so it's difficult to plan weekend quilt retreat.

kwendt 08-04-2011 08:10 AM

Next Spring sounds good to me. I'd have a long trip up from Florida.... but could do it if it's only a 2 or 3 day drive or so. Heck, why not? lol

ljsunflower 10-06-2011 02:50 PM

would this retreat be for vintage sewing machine owners only?
If it's gonna be in Arkansas or Missouri or even Kansas or Kentucky, I would be interested in going. And even though my singer is old it isn't considered vintage. LOL

How old? I have a 1979 machine that just makes the break - I was told 1980 is the break for Vikings, anyway.

Quilt Mom 10-07-2011 04:16 AM

Billy, are you feeling well enough to consider this?

If you want to try, I'll bet there are those of us here who would each step in and do a part of the planning, to make the load less for any one person. I know I'd be happy to do a part.

ljsunflower 10-07-2011 08:33 AM

my singer is a 6215C, made in Brazil. Not sure what year. I love it! I've got one in storage that is older than it. Can't remember what it is but they both sew great.
