My Tin Lizzie sit down is arriving today!!! sometime today that is... so I have to wait for it... wait for it... wait for it.....

Today is just dragging by! I've got the furniture moved around (I already have the table for the sit down although it needs to be replaced. It is not in the best of shape so they're replacing it) so it's just hanging out, waiting for the UPS dude to ring the bell so that I can set up the machine and start playing...


Okay. whew. I feel better now that I got that out. :D

I know what you mean! I feel like a young kid again waiting to open Christmas presents!

So I went out to do some errands.. hubby called me about 5pm to say he heard a noise at the door. He said it was more like a loud thumpthump... the UPS driver didn't even bother to ring the bell and I wonder if he just dropped it there.... $4k machine, just left at the door. Had he not been downstairs we never would have known and with all the construction going on in my house (they're working on nearly a dozen houses including on the lot next to me) nobody would have thought twice if someone walked away with a big horking box...

I didn't get time to play with her because by the time I got home, with pizza, we all watched Snow White and the Huntsman then it was bedtime for the kids and then for me... I slept miserably last night... too much caffeine I think... and I'm leaving in 2 hours for a Sewing Saturday... I'll get to play with her tomorrow - all day....

Now I need to name her - and make her a nice cover to keep her warm and cozy when I'm not using her....

Well this way it gives her a chance to look around her new home, get settled in and gaze at all the material you and her will be playing with:)

I got hubby to finish putting her together yesterday morning then had to run out to get a few errands done - it strongly advises you to use a surge protector and we didn't have an empty one - okay, we had one... but the light was flickering on it so there was no way I was going to use it... so in to town I went...

After I got back, I read how to thread a bobbin - funny... if you thread a bobbin while the machine is not stitching, the needle still goes up and down!! Go figure. That's weird. It's designed to fill a bobbin while you are sewing which is a cool feature but I do like to have a few bobbins ready before I start a project....

Well. .. after getting her up and running, I started to sew on a scrap sandwich and she didn't sound very good. There's something wrong for sure... then there was a clunk and I broke a needle. It also smells strong of oil in my craft room now. I'm not digging that. I'll be making a dealer phone call after they open. I think I want my training now.....I didn't think I'd need it but sadly I think I do. I must be doing something wrong and why is it smelling so strong of oil?...

The rep came to the house on Tuesday and fiddled with it for quite some time. She could not figure out what was going on with it so she packed it up and shipped it out to be serviced. I'm not happy about it at all. I called her today to check up on it. She said that it is now fixed and that the timing was out. She said it might have been because I broke a needle. I don't agree with her. I know that you can knock out the timing if you break a needle however it doesn't explain why the machine is so flipping loud.
She's bringing it back on Sunday.

My local Lizzie dealer called me today to let me know that they got their sit down model in... yeah, a bit too late now that I have purchased the machine elsewhere... I told her of my problems and she said that their machine is super quiet. I might have to go down there tomorrow to play with theirs so that I can have it fresh in my mind for when my machine is returned. If it isn't quiet when they return it, I will demand a new machine.

I'm really bummed and it is not starting off on the right foot.. first with my table being messed up - it felt like sandpaper... then with the machine being really loud and not sounding the way it should... then the replacement table arrived and it was damaged and then my machine being send out for repairs. I'm not sure what to make of it.

I'll post up Sunday after the machine comes back... :'(

Oooohhh, so sorry you are having so many problems. I hope all is fixed and you are able to play soon.

demand your money if they give you the fun around ,and check the other place maybe they have a new one that ready to sit up.

The rep came by yesterday with my fixed machine. It broke 2 needles while she was sewing with it. The second one completely ceased up the machine. She said that she had another machine out in the car so we set that one up. It runs much nicer than the other one.

I will say it is a lot louder than I remember it to be. Part of me regretted getting it because of the noise - there is some sort of an echo/vibration that we think is coming from the table. My new table will be late here next week so we'll see how that goes... I'm going to quilt up a table runner today that has been waiting patiently for me to finish and then after that I need to set aside quilting for a few days and get working on the crochet designs for my website. I don't want to miss my December new design release date... I'm going to figure out how to juggle crochet and quilting yet...

But so far, so good. She's back... My craft room now has excellent lighting thanks to some flourescent lighting and I'll be a happy camper :)

Update.... My new machine is functioning perfectly. I'm tickled pink with it. I had to adjust the height of the hopping foot and since doing that, I've had beautiful stitches, front and back.
She delivered my replacement table yesterday and it's nice and smooth.
I'll be posting up some practice pieces later on in the week. I wanted to kick out a few practice pieces before diving in to my stack of unfinisheds...
