Walkabout Pattern
Would anyone care to share their "Walkabout" pattern with me?
|
What do you mean by 'share'? Sell their used pattern? If it's a commercial published pattern, it can't be photocopied.
|
Is this the pattern of which you speak?
Three places to purchase, and three different prices! http://www.connectingthreads.com/pat...__D10398D.html https://www.missouriquiltco.com/shop...-quilt-pattern http://www.keepsakequilting.com/walkabout-pattern Or ... is this the pattern? ... totally different than the above, and a free download. http://www.makoweruk.com/test/wp-con...bsite-copy.pdf Often times, it is worth checking in with Mr. Google! |
oh i saw the one done with some floral. nice. but frustrating when people name things the same and they aren't. makes hunting more difficult.
|
Hmmm. I thought a walkabout pattern would have something to do with Australia.
|
Looks like a very easy pattern to make with squares and two flying geese
side by side or if you don't like to make FG, make 4 HST's. |

Oh, Paper Princess....I'm well aware of copyright laws. I was simply asking the board members to share their walkabout quilt patterns...as in PICTURES of their quilts to get ideas of different color combinations. I've already purchased the paper pattern.
~Sea~ BTW when I looked for the pattern for you, I saw LOTS of photos in Google Images of completed Walk About quilts (again, which pattern????) ........ |

Thanks for bringing this up. I have saved a picture (for someday), never knew the name. I have a collection of 1o inch blocks, no two alike. I'm wondering if I can use these in this pattern. My HST's will all be the same.

himnherr - Nice quilt! :)
It looks like this pattern is alternating one piece blocks with HST blocks (4 to make a block) that are rotated. I'm looking for a quick design to sew up for a gift and this just might be it :) Thanks for showing :) |

Have fun! |
Well, don't I feel like a ninnie! After reading all the posts, I thought a walkabout was a quilt you took along with you to work on in stages or sections - kinda like Bonnie Hunter's hexie quilt that she has been doing for about 4 years. The pics are all gorgeous quilts! Guess I learned something today. Happy quilting, All!! Kathy

By "walk about" I thought she meant a quilt idea that is easy to take with you for hand work. My sister does hand piecing and she always has what she calls her "traveling quilt" because it goes with her in the car, to boring meetings etc. She's made some beauties! Good luck finding your walk about.

The pattern is certainly lovely for those big prints to feature. The group MSQ showed was well done with all the coordinates.
I'm anxious to see what you come up with! Be sure to post the finished picture! |
