It seems like my walking foot isn't coming all the way down and resting on the feed area when I have my foot down. It clanks a lot and I get a lot of uneven stitches. I switched to my 1/4" foot and all the clanking stopped.

I don't see a way to adjust the walking foot and I'm sure I purchased the right foot for my machine model.

Any ideas on how to deal with this?

How old is it and do you still have the reciept? Take it back is what my idea for dealing with this would be! :)

When you are attaching the foot to your machine, before you totally tighten the screw, lower your presser foot, then continue tightening the screw. I hope this helps :D:D:D

Kas - I went on a reduce/reuse/recycle spree and used the receipt in the fireplace to get the fire going. LOL

Amma - I'll try that. Thanks!

Make sure the bar on the walking foot is over the top or around the needle screw. This is the part that makes the walking foot 'walk'.....

doesn't sound like the right one...I used a generic on my computer machine and had all the clanking, ordered the right brand and works fine

Mine worked for the 1st 15 yrs. but I wore it out & just purchased a replacement for my Viking Rose - after breaking 2 brand new needles.
