Walking foot for Janome

I have a Janome Gold660. Can a use a generic low shank walking foot or does it have to be Janome?TU

Get the one made for it. I tried a generic and it kept falling off. Check the Kenmore website in their sewing parts. That's where I got my good one several years ago.

I use the distinctive brand open toe walking foot ($35 on Amazon) and it works very well on my HD3000. A Janome branded one would also work fine.

I used Distinctive—it fell off too often.

I have a generic walking foot and it works well on my Brother, Janome, and my Juki.

the good thing about generic feet is that they are inexpensive.
the bad thing about generic feet is that they are often also cheap.
buying one is like rolling dice in vegas.

i have not had good luck trying to use generic feet on any of my janome machines.

if the only thing you can afford is generic, then give it a try.
you might have to buy more than one until you find one that will work well with your janome.

if you can afford it, buy a janome brand walking foot.
