Walking foot squeaking
Baby Lock walking foot starting to squeaking while quilting. Do you think I can add a drop oil someplace or does it have to be replaced? Nothing squeaks while doing regular sewing so know it's the foot. Looking forward to help.

My Bernina walking foot was squeaking I think in the ankle section. I put a bit of machine oil on a QTip and wiped it around all the moving parts. I then used a tissue and wiped it all down and then folded a tissue and stitched on it to make sure all the extra oil was gone. I am not sure which part was squeaking but this did the trick for me.

I know Juki recommends that you oil their walking foot. I oiled mine and it really did quiet it down. Just be sure to only sew practice squares till it works itself in. Dark sooty oil dripped from mine after it was oiled. It would have been disastrous on a white quilt.

I have never noticed a squeaking noise on my Bernina walking foot but I appreciate Tartan's post in case it starts squeaking. Sounds like something needs just a tiny bit of lubricant.

Try turning the presser foot tension all the way to lowest setting (White plastic knob on top of machine directly over the presser foot); all the way up (mine has a guage on the front of the machine that indicates foot tension) ; also see page 25 of user manual. [Juki TL-2200 QVP Mini]
