Always loved this statement Quality over Quantity. Wherever it may be appropriate. :-)

SOOOOO excited! I am near two Walmart stores. Thanks sewobcessed1 for the link to the article. I have become so doubtful about today's economy, this really lifted my spirit!

Just read an article in the Palm Beach Post saying the same thing. It said Walmart had lowered its shelves and emptied the aisles trying to appeal to "higher income" buyers. However their "same store sales" have declined for the past 7 quarters and so now they are going to increase the product selection by about 11% at most stores, raise the shelf height and bring back center aisle offerings! Fabric was one of the items mentioned that would be brought back :-)

I will believe it when I see it.

NOPE! Our store and a neighboring town has already started getting rid of the sewing department. It's being replaced with electronics.

It's about time the brought the fabric back.

I'll only believe it when I see it (can you call me doubting Thomas?)

There is nothing cheap at our quilt store here. About the best you get is 20% off. They're very independent. I know it's a hard way to make a living but they have to realize not everyone has hundreds of dollars to spend.

I live in Okla. and my store never lost their fabric. I know they do not have the quality you get in quilt shops but for those of us on a very tight budget it is wonderful. I enjoy their patterns with all the fabric it takes to make that exact quilt. I am happy for those of you that lost your fabric dept. now knowing it will be back.
