I was shocked! They had all the A.E. Nathan fabrics for the "Quilt of the Month" patterns they have had for the year for $1 and a $2 a yard!

I don't have my camera right now, but here's some links to what they look like. Star gazing is here(They had all of the fabrics in this one for $1!):

http://www.aenathan.com/?stmpl=&tmpl...ons&view=12553

Theres also all their "Quilt of the Month" patterns for free on there.

These I LOVE, they were for the "English Garden" quilt of the month, but they are so pretty, you could use them in a lot of patterns. They had all of these, they were $2, except 1, it was $1.They are here:

http://www.aenathan.com/?stmpl=&tmpl...ons&view=12531

Remember the pretty "Lady Rose" that someone posted? They had the fabrics in it for $1 a yard, except one , it was $2! Those are by David Textiles, though. You can see them here:

The A.E. Nathan fabrics are NICE, too.So are teh David textiles. A lot of quilt shops carry them!

I'd say they will sell out QUICK for these!

LOL! Sorry! ........not!

Seriously, though, I didn't have any money to spend, really, and I still walked out of there with a ton, for cheap!

I hope our Walmart has them! I am picking up DGD after pre-school and we may just head over to Walmart. I was at the Walmart in Franklin, TN earlier this week. They had a very nice fabric department. I got 4 of the patterns they give away. Two were from August and September, not sure of the other two. I have to be careful and not buy more than a couple yards. DD is turning 15 Saturday and still need to get her birthday gifts.

Just came home from WM no sale on fabric and I did see a few of those prints :(

Prettiptibbs 09-16-2010 10:51 AM

How does one know which walmart carries fabric?

Cheriefaye2008 09-16-2010 10:57 AM

Ok, so my Walmart does have fabric dept, but I've never seen anything about the QOM patterns or fabrics there. Is this something online or in store?

cjomomma 09-16-2010 11:37 AM

Well gosh darn it!!!! I went over there and they hadn't marked them down yet. They were still at regular price. :(:(

CarolinePaj 09-16-2010 11:45 AM

I am so jealous.... we never have sales over here.... most fabric retails for about £11.00 (about $17.00).

Oh I wish for a trip to the USA.

hugs

zennia 09-16-2010 11:56 AM

There is no way to tell. They don't have a list.

I haven't seen any fabric's for WM online and I have searched.

patricej 09-16-2010 02:53 PM

i hope i'm wrong, but when they start marking down the hot sellers, it usually means that walmart is downsizing the fab department in preparation to get rid of it.

take note of the fact that those fabs have not been reduced in all walmarts.

ask the ladies who work in the department.

RedGarnet222 09-16-2010 03:06 PM

One of the reno walmart's sold out all of thier fabric last month. I would never have known except a friend told me and I went over there and bought about fourty yards of different fabrics. It was at fifty percent off. I heard later they went to seventy five percent off. But that is ok, I got what I wanted when they had a huge selection.
It is sad that it is gone from the store though. I only used to buy small things that I wanted at a reduced price.
But, while I was there, I found some fabrics that I buy at the LQS for a lot more! Sadly, now it is too late.

Our wm has always marked down the QOM fabric. We went thru the whole remodel and they just made fabrics dept smaller. During the remodel they marked down fabric to 25 cents a yard so I bought what was on every bolt that would make good backing.

trisha 09-16-2010 07:11 PM

Maybe the fabric and stuff was so cheap at your walmart because they are going to close the fabric department. That is what happened at our walmart. Big sale,,,then poof...gone.

CarrieAnne 09-16-2010 07:15 PM

AW, these are SO pretty! Hope my WM has them, got to buy before the price increase, ya know!

bearisgray 09-17-2010 05:51 AM

We just stopped at a Woodbury, MN and West St. Paul, MN WalMarts. These two still have fabric on bolts.

Didn't see any markdowns like that at either of those stores.

In fact, most of the "wall fabric" is around 4.94/yard now.

cjk 09-17-2010 06:17 AM

no sale at my WM.

GrammaNan 09-17-2010 05:50 PM

Between Dmart and I we have been to at least 6 WM and have bought $1 yard fabric from every one. I am heading to Castle Rock tomorrow to see what their WM has. Between the two of us we have purchased over $150.00 worth. The rising cost of cotton isn't going to rain on our quilt parade!

cherryberry 09-17-2010 05:54 PM

None of the Wal Marts in my area carry fabric anymore.

littlehud 09-18-2010 06:38 AM

That kind of worried me, too. But, it was mainly the "QOM" stuff and they had a few Disney things marked down too, but it wasn't like the whole fabric section or anything.

Our WM done the "reset" thing that a lot of stores did when they stopped carrying fabric. There's a lady that works the fabric dept. that I love, I talk to her all the time, well, she told me then that they had to "fight" (her word) to keep the fabric dept. then and that she didn't think that we would ever lose our fabric dept.

At that time, they used to carry all kinds of notions, even the grace frames! So, when they done the remodel, they cut down to just fabric,(a decent sized selection, though) and a aisle of notions, and aisle of sewing machines.

So, I talked to her again a few weeks ago when someone posted on here that they heard that ALL Wm's were going to stop carrying fabric. She said that that had to do with the "reset" of the stores. That ours had already done that and that they would always sell fabric.

But, you never know when "corporate' will make a decision that the floor employees won't know until it happens!

I just hope they don't. The other WM close to me is like a lot has posted on here, where they are only selling the precut stuff. I don't even go to that store anymore.

I must be lucky here in rural Somerset - all three of my LQS (within 40 minutes drive) have fabric from £8 per metre and sales sections too, plus I buy a lot online from UK websites often for around £4 per metre. If you're interested, I'd be happy to share some websites with you, just PM me. :-D

CarrieAnne 09-27-2010 04:04 AM

I was ableto find afew of these, course ours were $2.00 not one, but still a great dea!

BellaBoo 09-27-2010 04:29 AM

I'm lucky to be close to a Walmart that sells David's Textiles. It is the only fabric I buy for quilts at Walmart. It's so nice. Regular price it's $2.97 so I don't complain if it isn't on sale. Usually the past month's Quilt of the Month fabric is marked down to $1 and $2. If it's David's then I usually buy the bolt.
