Got a Carol Doak book 300 paper pieced blocks from the library. She goes step by step in the front of the book, is how I learned and some great ideas in the book. Check out your library, ours has tons of quilting books, you can try them out before you find one you just have to purchase.

Carol Doak also has a DVD that is wonderful that goes step by step and you can pause and rewatch as many times as you like

I googled it and there were several youtube videos and quilt site videos and that is what I started out doing. I never used a light box though as I never really understood how to use that etc. Until you actually sit down and do some sample pieces I don't think it really starts to click...There are also tons of free patterns online! So, happy piecing!:)
