Warm batting

I need to find some warm batting for the next two quilts that I plan to make. I am considering Quilter's Dream Cotton Supreme loft or Quilter's Dream Wool. However, I just read the thread on bearding and now I have some concerns about Quilters Dream. Many quilters really seem to like Hobbs. Which is the warmest batting that Hobbs make? Are there any other brands that I should consider? One quilt will be made with flannel for both top and backing and the other has flannel for backing only. I am going to purchase this online since batting choice is not great where I live. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I would use Hobbs wool. Have not seen complaints about it, and it would be warmer than cotton.

For warmth ... wool is the best in my opinion. I have used double batting to increase the warmth, one layer cotton one layer poly. I only double bat when I send out to a long arm pro , as the volume is too much to put through my regular machine.

One of my friends made a quilt with Quilter's Dream "Dream Green." She said it was too hot for her to sleep under and gave it away to somebody that was a lot colder!

I only use high loft poly batting. I quilt all my own quilts.

I recently added a poly batt to a cotton/poly batt and didn't have any trouble quilting it. It has top be warm.

Wool or silk. Warmth without weight.

In MHO, Quilter's Dream is the Cadillac of batting. It doesn't beard and feels soft as silk, has a nice drape. I usually use the all cotton one but did use one that had some poly in it, also, for a particular quilt that I didn't want all cotton. They have several different weights and varieties. Quilter's Dream wool would be wonderful, I'm sure. You might check their web-site for all the varieties and uses.

Someone recently told me about Quilter's Dream PUFF. It's supposed to be a lot warmer. I have a pkg on order from my LQS so will be trying it out pretty soon.
