I received my sample and have to say-this batting is SUPER soft. I've got it in a quilt sandwich, ready to start being quilted tonight. But first impression is WOW.

I was delighted to receive a generous sample of the Warm & Plush from Abby at W&N, especially as I am in Canada. I love the feel of it. Just now UPS delivered a box with 2 Queen size Warm & Plush battings from Fabric.com. They were on sale last week and shipping to Canada was only $3.95 and only took two days! The Fabricland (chain store) here had a couple in stock and the price tag is $99.98 (plus 13% tax).

I just finished machine quilting a bed quilt using warm & plush (purchased on amazon.com). It is SO thick and fairly heavy as well.
I'm not sure if it is a factor of the size of the batting, but it was the most difficult project I've done so far in 10+ years of quilting and over a year of frame/machine quilting. I had far more thread breakage and skipped stitches than ever before in a quilt. I normally use warm & natural and don't have those problems generally. As challenging as it was, the quilt is for my daughter's and as it is flannel on top & bottom with the extra thick batting - she is LOVING her new snuggly quilt. Hoping to try the warm & plush on a smaller baby quilt and see if the problems persist. |
