warm and white vs warm and natural
 

Is warm and white thinner than warm and natural? I am doing the sunny skies quilt from missouir star quilt company. I have white as the background color. Is it necessary to use the warm and white or can i use the warm and naturial. I have never used the warm and white before. Any thing special I should know. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I could be wrong, but I believe the only difference is in the color. The white is white, while the natural is off white.

they are pretty much the same- except the white is bleached- the natural is *creamy* colored- I have used the natural in quilts that were predominantly white without any problem- it does not really change the white fabrics.

I agree with the others that they are the same except for the color. If you compare a white fabric laid over each of them, you can definitely see the difference. The one over the W&W will look whiter, brighter. If that's the look you want, I would get the W&W.

I agree with Dunster - when I have a quilt with a lot of white I use the W&W.

I use both (and Warm Blend as well) - no real difference in handling. I actually prefer the Warm and White over W&N.

I, too, agree with Dunster. If you have the opportunity, take some of your white fabric to the store and lay it over both products and see which you prefer. Try side by side if you can so you can really get a feel for any difference there might be. Handling wise, I've not found a difference.

I think the only difference is the color. I have used both. If my fabric has a white background, I use warm and white and if it is a tan background I use warm and natural. The white looks better with white fabric because it keeps the blocks white. The natural can give white fabric a hint of tan to it.

The person who quilts for me prefers warm and white because "warm and natural has bits of the "hulls" in it and it can throw off the needle." I have found no difference in thickness, etc.

I use a lot of white in my quilts and I use Warm and White because of that. To me it means that the seams from piecing don't show as much and sometimes they don't show at all. I buy it by the bolt...and I use it for everything.

Me too, I want the white to appear totally white!!!!

I'd definitely suggest the W&W if you've used white fabric. Otherwise the seam allowances will probably show through with the W&N. Not pretty!

The lady who does quilting for me prefers the warm & white versus the warm and natural, on all quilts. She says she prefers "the look" of a quilt done with white batting and lighter colors in the quilt top. I just do as she says as she has a lot more experience than I do, especially with quilting! I know she also uses black when appropriate, so she doesn't use the white on all quilts, just the light ones.

Add me to the agreement, I have used both, I would say the color is the difference.
