My understanding is "yes" to all of your questions.

Thank you so much! I think this is going to be just the ticket when I start my Sindy Rodenmayer "Fiesta" quilt. :)

The name of the product IS "wash away" !

I use them all the time. They work great for Paper Piecing especially the very small projects as you do not have to take the paper off.

Can this be used with any printer?

Wow.... that sounds great. I'm curious now to see how people like it.

I do redwork embroidery and use two products: Transfer Eze or Sulky sticky fabri-solvy. I put my pattern on the copy machine and copy onto the product. Peel it off and stick it to my fabric (no ironing) and do my embroidery work then I wash it away in the sink. I guess if you have a larger item, you could run it through the washer on cold water to remove the product. My printer is an ink jet.

It will only work in ink jet printers, not laser printers. But if you are like me, and only have a laser printer, having a Kinkos around the corner is just the answer!

My sewing group uses Transfer Ez - and loves it.

sheet to use with applique or embroidery

I just bought some of this fabric like stabilizer. I got it from BirdBrain Designs and it is from Sulky and is called "Sticky Fabri-Solvy. I haven't finished my project yet but I am using it for embroidery and love it so far.

FYI....all printers are not the same - some bleed more than others so you should always test your ink on the product before you go further. I had an HP printer that always bled even on paper if it got wet or damp. So, when I wanted to start printing photos on fabric I searched for printers that work well. So far I have heard Epson has the best ink for not making a mess.
