I went shopping at the good will and I was rummaging through the fabric bin (got alot of fabric it was such a great deal :D )
Started talking with a lady she noticed all the fabric and asked if I needed a sewing machine my mother did so I said yes. Well I met her back up at the good will yesterday and she gave me the sewing machine and a bag of fabric. I didnt ask about the fabric weather it was washed as I thought it was all whole yards+ in the middle I found a zip block of little charms so now I dont know if I should wash them, not worry about them or what they are darker colors and I already have planned a quilt for them hmmm So to wash or not to wash that is the question lol and if I did wash them umm how would I go about doing that lol |
First off SCORE ! Good for you
As for the charms I think most don't wash them because of the raveling . If you want you can soak them and then lay them flat to dry. Now what kind of machine ? Where are the pics of the fabric ?? LOL |
lol thanks
The machine was an older singer just front and back stitch. My mom lived with me for about 2 years til she got social sercuity and just moved out so I am such a mean daughter I wouldnt let her take mine :P She also just got scammed from someone on cragislist and spent 60$ for a machine that doesn't work No pics for awhile my camera takes a disk so I have to fill it up to justify putting it on my computer. got about 100 pics to go (then I will over whelm everyone :) Thanks for the advice I will test soak them to see if they bleed I hope not Ohh and at good will prices couldn't be beat <1 yard 50 cents, a yard and over 2$ got about 14$ worth it was a great deal |
I think Klue had posted before to place them in a pillow case and you can wash that way. It might be worth a try!

I use a zip-up mesh lingerie bag to wash small stuff.

i put like colors together in a pot of almost boiling water with a little dish liquid. when it's cool enough to touch i swish them around. washed and shrunk all at once. rinse in cool in a drainer and lay flat to dry on a towel. good to go. no unraveling.
