Washable Fabric Glue

I would like to use a fabric glue that will wash out of the fabric on a project that I am making. I live in small town America and the only product I can find here is a Rose Art washable glue stick. I'm not sure if the word washable means it will wash out when laundered or if it means it is a permanent hold. Thanks in advance for your help.

Rose art glue sticks are fine to use, they wash out. I use cheapy glue sticks from the dollar store often (4 for $1!)
the only ones to avoid are ones that say { Craft Bond} those are permanent. I usually use elmers glue sticks- that's what our dollar store carries but I have used Rose art ones in the past.

well my Elmer's school glue that I use says washable and I know for sure that it washes out. There should be more detail in the fine print to be sure, usually if it's permanent it will say "can be laundered" or something to that effect.

Thank you for responding. The only glue sticks I found available here were the Rose Art brand and somehow I either misplaced or trashed the card with the info on it before reading. I thought the glue would wash out but just need to know for sure before I screwed up my fabric.

You could always test it first. Personally, I'd probably glue the legs on my husband's pants shut, just for giggles. :D

I use Elmers School glue. It washes out and is cheap.

I order elmers glue off the internet at great prices...............

The store stocks only that brand because it's cheaper then Elmer's . Are you paying the same price as the Elmer's cost in other stores? You shouldn't. Rose glue is much cheaper in the stores next to the Elmer's.

Elmers seems to be in short supply in the stores lately because of the slime craze the kids are doing. I recently visited the grands and the granddaughter had a gallon jug and about 10 small bottles. No wonder I can't find it in the stores. I ordered mine off Amazon. But I am not fussy with any glue that says washable. I use it for basting the quilt sandwiches and I wash the quilt in the machine when it is done and any washable glue has always washed out. And when dry doesn't gum up the needle.

Betty62, If you google Rose Art glue sticks you should get all the info. Here's a link to their own site and there are many others.

Have fun!

I use plain old Elmer's Glue but the washable type as there are 2 types out there I found out the hard way. I use the glue to match seams from time to time as well as attaching my binding onto the quilt before I take it to the machine to stitch it down. Saves getting pricked by the straight pins for me. I wash all my quilts before I give them out so I know the glue is gone. I acquired the small little tip to control the amount of glue that comes out of the bottle which works great.
