nativetexan: what brand marker did you use that was a problem washing out? What type of fabric was it? I need to know what to look out for as I use these alot

I use the Crayola brand washable marker. The only color I've not been able to wash out is black. Do not use a heavy hand when using the markers. It can bleed thru to the batting making the marks more difficult to remove. Do not iron over the markers as this will set the marks into the fabric. I wash the quilts in a hot of water as I think the end user may use when washing.

Thanks so much for the information. I saw the markers on sale yesterday for $1 and picked them up, hoping that I would be able to use them. I've never marked a quilt before, I usually just meander or make up some kind of design, but I think I'm ready to try this out.

they were Crayola washable markers. I gave them away after that. partly my fault for marking harder, but still. the safest marker is blue wash out marker. dritz I think, not sure.
