Washing quilt with prairie points?

I am working on a Moda Bakeshop pattern for a baby shower-body of quilt is pinwheels, and there is a border of continuous prairie points. Has anyone washed a quilt with this type of border? Do the points hold their shape, or should I add some lightweight interfacing? Thank you!

I made one about 4 years ago and it's holding up fine. I didn't do anything special to the prairie points.

I was a little disappointed when I made a baby quilt with prairie points because of course they did wrinkle when the quilt was washed.... but... I smoothed them out when damp.... and okay....not perfect....but okay

I have made that pattern and it washed just fine. As long as the fabric is a good quilting cotton I'm sure you will not have issues. BTW I love the pattern and have used it twice for baby girls. You'll love it.

some of mine have folded over a bit, but I've used them A LOT on a lot of quilts.
They mostly held up and go ahead and use them, they make such a nice border to a quilt.

Thanks for asking the question. I just recently made this pattern and haven't given it as a baby gift yet. I was wondering the same thing....

I made one and they have held up fine. Think it was the thickness and the folds that helped.

Thanks ladies! I made this pattern a few years ago and gifted the quilt-I didn't want to ask the recipient in case the quilt is just sitting in a closet! :). I love this pattern for babies! I will continue and not worry about the points! Yay!

I made a quilt with prairie points as a border around the center. When I washed I could see they needed to be tacked down, which I haven't done yet. I do need to get it out and do that.
I made a quilt kit that had large prairie points, I bought buttons and sewed them onto the points to hold them down. If put on the edge of a quilt, I don't worry about them.

That really is a cute baby quilt! Thanks for providing the link to the free pattern.
