Wavy lines
 

I sent a table topper off to a new long arm quilter. When I got it back, my sashing was wavy, and the border was uneven. I worked so hard on this little quilt and really felt it was accurately sewn. Is it possible that it was pulled or stretched by the long arm machine? I'm feeling 😔

You really need to communicate with your longarmmer. Keeping quilts square is a skill when longarmming. If she's new, she may not know how. If the fault is hers, the sooner she learns the better.

It should be fine after you block it.

Sounds like it was stretched too tight on the frame. If you are going to use her again it would pay to show her the error.

do talk to the long armer--she needs to know about the problem so she can prevent in future. blocking should help some,too.

So sorry this happened. It would definitely be a good idea to talk to her if you feel it did not have issues when you brought it in to be quilted.

I do longarming and I will tell you that just because your quilt lays flat on the ironing board it may not lay flat when you put it on the machine. Borders area tricky thing. Sometimes they are to tight and sometimes they are way loose. Talk to her and see of she thought the borders were loose. It is hard the make something lay flat if it isn't.
