I'm not sure which way I like better. Opinions please!

Option 1. This has the 'darks' going the same way.

Option 2. This has the 'lights' and 'darks' making rows.

auntluc 12-01-2008 10:20 AM

I like the first option with the darks all going the same way.

LoriJ 12-01-2008 10:25 AM

I like option 2. The rows are nicely defined with contrast.

Knot Sew 12-01-2008 11:04 AM

I would need the picture back further. Its to hard that close :D

mary quite contrary 12-01-2008 11:25 AM

The second one will give you a striped effect. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I agree with Ruth can we see one from further back.

My area is pretty small. I will see what I can do tonight.

Kara 12-01-2008 11:47 AM

Tough one... Think I like option #1.

Can't wait to see the finished project.

purplemem 12-01-2008 11:49 AM

I like option #2, I like the contrast and the striped effect.

kacie 12-01-2008 11:54 AM

#2. Scrappy is good, especially when there's a little pattern to it.

collettakay 12-01-2008 12:23 PM

Option 2 is my opinion!

sewjoyce 12-01-2008 01:33 PM

I like #2

sewsewquilter 12-01-2008 01:36 PM

I'm not sure. How are you going to quilt it? I am kinda leaning to the strip effect.

Kyiav10 12-01-2008 01:45 PM

I like number two but to be sure I would like to see a picture further away.

What I really want to do is a coffee cup panto. 8) But what I will probably end up with is a meander. :-) I think with black thread.

ScubaK 12-01-2008 06:04 PM

I would make the stripes or strips laid out looking like a diamond...
Then do a coffee cup pantograph in the center...
Quilting swirls like steam rising from the cups...
Oh well, just my 2 stitches...

The coffee cup panto would look good with those colors. :-) Either way you lay it out it will be really cute.

Here is the layout back a little bit.

babeegirl 12-01-2008 07:13 PM

I like the triangles better :)

I like your 2 stitches. Only not sure how to do it.

treasurelady 12-03-2008 11:04 AM

After seeing the second set of pics I'm less sure than I was at first. I lean toward the stripes. Black quilting would be dynomite!!! Either way, a lovely quilt. I would be proud to call it my own.

I like the stripes.

sewnsewer2 12-03-2008 12:07 PM

I like the 1st pic, it's easier on my eyes.

mary quite contrary 12-03-2008 12:08 PM

Boy I don't really know. They are so different. Isn't it funny what a difference it makes. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Elizabeth A. 12-03-2008 01:29 PM

I like the stripes, but I think the suggestion about making diamonds with the darks might be just the right touch.

grammy 12-03-2008 02:38 PM

Deb G 12-03-2008 09:36 PM

I like the 2nd one the best.

Lucky Patsy's 12-03-2008 11:13 PM

I like 1736b the best.

Rose Marie 12-03-2008 11:33 PM

To see what the diamond pattern looks like go to www.pbtex.com and look at the Swirl pattern. It is a free download.

reneebobby 12-04-2008 03:13 AM

I like the second one the best but I would switch (not sure where) on the left side of picutre second row down i would move those somewhere else but I'm not sure where. I love how it's coming along and can't wait to see it completed.

Same here

With the new pictures I have changed my mind.

I like the triangles better.

treasurelady 12-04-2008 01:53 PM

my husband says he likes the stripe better. Says it's less random, more planned.

butterflywing 12-04-2008 04:05 PM

i agree that there are more than 2 ways to lay them out and diamonds or squares should be considered. how light are the lights? how dark are the darks? think of all the log cabin designs. you can get all those effects with triangles, after all. if you are only deciding among those two options i vote for #1. i think that's sharper looking. my 5 cents.

stop confusing me! you changed pics when i wasn't looking. with the new pics i like the diamonds better.
now it's #2.

shellyp 12-05-2008 10:39 AM

Well, after taking count....its about 50/50! I thought I would get a big winner on which way. Hmmmm This weekend I will see about doing the diamond layout and see what it looks like. Thanks for all the help!
