Wedding gift

I have received an invitation to a wedding, but hardly know the couple (they are friends of my granddaughter) I have several quilts that I have made through the years that are beginning to take up too much space and am thinking about gifting one of my quilts as their wedding gift. However, all my quilts for labels dating them. Should I remove the original label and attach a new label, or should I just add another label, leaving the original label so it can be seem?

I would attach a new label and personalize it for the couple.

i would remove the old and add a new, especially for the couple

I gifted a quilt to my Sister's friend 2 years ago at Christmas. I left the original label and made a new label that said Quilted Hugs especially for you, gifted to Nan for Christmas 2015. She loved it and thought it was special that I had left the original label on it. It was a quilt that I loved but had saved for someone special.

Shame on me, I don't put labels on my quilts.

I probably would not give them a quilt for a wedding present if I barely knew them.

This is what I was thinking too. Unless you just want to part with one of your quilts you are not attached to. I'd ask your granddaughter what she thought.

Me either. I consider a handmade quilt a very special gift and reserve them for people who are special to me.

I have to agree with JenniePenny, sewbizgirl and cashs mom, if you barely know someone, why give them a gift of any kind?
