I am taking a class at Hancock Fabrics this weekend. It is a Lone Star quilt, but it is pieced using strip quilting...so no weird diamonds and stuff. Not only is this a new pattern for me, it is probably the most difficult that I have attempted. I am also using a fabric that I've never used before...batiks! I know many are fond of them and they are sooo beautiful! The colors I am using range from teal/green, purple and a rust color. Sounds weird, but when you see the fabrics together, they just seem to work. We had a lot of fun at the LQS picking them out. The ladies were so helpful..I just love their shop! I went in and said "Help!" and we went to work. Each color requires 5 different graduated color schemes. I have never had to choose fabrics like that before. I will post pics later.

Go to the $5 quilt class at LQS and then home to sew. Working on a D9p and bags. And then there's mother's day I need to get done, too.

Let's see - company of three arriving about 9:00 yet tonight - two hot air balloon flights to do on Saturday - another balloon flight (3rd) Sunday morning - company leaving Sunday late morning - family BBQ here Sunday afternoon - another (4th) balloon flight to do Sunday late afternoon/early evening. Just can't see any sewing or shopping squeezed in there anywhere!

Doing extreme house cleaning. I have an ant problem everywhere except the kitchen go figure. I don't know why they are coming in but it is about to drive me crazy. no one is allowed to eat anywhere but the kitchen so I know there is not food anywhere else. Pulling my hair out.

I have a full weekend. Tomorrow I hope to get some sewing in and I have to meet out Girl Scout leader to get some dye, Sunday my daughter and I will be hanging April Showers bags with her Girl Scout troop, then after that we will be going to Joann's so I can get some fabric to start yet another quilt, and get a bolt of muslin for none other than Girl Scouts. lol My weekend really doesn't end until Tuesday though so I don't know what Monday is going to bring hopefully more sewing time but probably working for my mom.

This summer the girls and I (eight six year olds) will be making pillowcases and then we will dye them, the girls will take one (that they made) home and we will donate the others to the Ronald McDonald house in the city! I am getting the stuff now though because I have some good coupons!

Niece's wedding on Saturday. Another neice and her family are staying in our beach house for weekend. They were here for supper, lots of fun. All going to the wedding. Church on Sunday, then rest.

A luncheon at a country club, post card club meeting, food shopping (so we can eat at home instead of out), laundry, church and rest on Sunday. Don't think I am going to get any sewing done this weekend. Probably not much until after the high-stakes testing at school the end of April. :cry:

Opening weekend of Scarborough Faire! I do the 'make your own' (like sand art with wax flakes) at the candle booth. This afternoon we got all my glass out, draped my tables, finished mixing my colors, tarped my tables for the night, etc. First thing in the morning I'll need to get into costume, plug in my crock pot, finish getting everything set up the way I want it, find the rest of my wick tabs, cut and set wicks for the new glass, and be ready for patrons to show up at 10 AM.

The weather is supposed to be gorgeous so we should have a great opening weekend!

Baseball practice for my son. Hubby has to go get eye glasses. Grocery shopping and no sewing on my horizon. Have not sewn in a long time, but I need to get it busy on some things.

No sewing for me this weekend! I am having a surprise birthday party for my wonderful man tomorrow, expecting 30-40 people! Lots and lots of cleaning, and trying to get everything done without him suspecting anything....eeeeekkk! The weather is supposed to ne nice, have a great weekend everyone!!!!

Ants just like you. They can be a pest. Have you tried boric acid? If is found with cleaning supplies, also in the pharmacy. Cheaper in the cleaning supplies.

I've started the spring cleaning in a serious way....Inside and out....After the winter just past, lots of dead stuff to cut down outside, and lots of dust inside....

I have a quilt I need to finish before the end of the month.That will make three tops finished, then I will set up and quilt those...But I think today will be more cleaning...ugh :|

Going to accountant with 09 taxes, FINALLY finished last night while watching the Mets win. Happiness on 2 fronts.
Then home to continue cutting farm-related fabric for my Granddaughter, 13 a new quilter working on her 2nd and 3rd quilts

I have an ant problem in the kitchen every spring. I just spray, spray, spray. Then one day out of the blue, they leave. They do it every spring.

Oh, my plans for the weekend are to finish up a baby quilt, (if I can ever get off the !@#$$ computer :twisted:

I cleaned my living room and and tackling the front porch. Yikes. It 's scary.

Had a yard sale today. Small success, but more than we had when we started. Money that is.
Tomorrow is church in the am and in the pm we are having a Seder Service. It's our third one and very interesting.

Last nite we went to Purdue Univ. (70miles away) to see a show our daughter (she is a vocal performer in the Pur. Musical Org.) was in. This morning I was up early to go to the monthly BOM at the LQS I frequent. This afternoon it was off to Butler Univ. in Indy (50 miles away) to the university spring awards program...our other daughter was receiving a departmental award. Then we dropped some things off at my hubby's office further downtown in Indy and took daughter and her boyfriend to dinner. Tomorrow after church we will be making yet another trip to Purdue to attend a cancer benefit. In between times (when I am home) I need to get my 'homework' done for the photo transfer project class I am taking at the LQS on Monday evening. Gosh...it wears me out just thinking about it all! And, it will be back to my kdg kids on Monday morning. Honestly, I am really ready for summer vacation.

Spent Saturday cleaning and making molasses cookies for daughter at college. Had to quit at 3 because the Yankee game came on. Today I will be going to Utica college to watch my daughter pitch for the softball team and bringing her the cookies. Will not get home till 9 or so. So goes my weekend.

The wedding turned out great over 300 attended. Reception food was so good. The remainder of weekend was just fun.Hope everyone had a nice weekend
