Got the Pie in the Sky top sashed. Now working on borders. The handsewing of the binding on my Strip Pineapple is taking longer than anticipated. I am on the night shift with my Mom. Thought I would get lots of sewing done, but helping her get dressed, eat, bathed, etc. is taking up all my time right now. Ah well....just glad to be able to spend some time with my mom.

After reading all the stuff happening in this groups lives it's a wonder we are able to find time to scratch let alone quilt:). Managed to lay out my GFG and plan on leaving it there a day or two to "percolate"....It has taken so many years on and off to get this far I am getting paranoid about the layout. Have to spend some time in the garden watering and clearing leaves and debris....then some ironing and hope to get some hexies cut for the joining pieces of my GFG (doing the star layout....more work but looks better than the lozenge pattern). My DIL's quilt is under the GFG layout, so I need to get the blocks on the GFG labelled and back in my workroom so I can contemplate the piecing of the back on my DIL's quilt. I am keen to get going, but my youngest son and my mother are consuming a lot of my time....plus we have two big weekends, back to back with family gatherings of the epic kind. Which means a lot of extra work around the house. Anyway....all the best to everyone and happy quilting.

I have enjoyed all of the comments on this thread as well as getting myself rejuvenated. Since starting this thread, I have had a bout with my sinuses that put me in the doctor's office begging for a shot (got two) to help me get over it. It all started Christmas Eve when I lost my voice from laughing so much during our family get together. My 90 year old mother dressed up as an elf complete with pointey shoes and bells on her skirt and ohhhhhh dont forget the red long johns underneath. I just now got over it. Whew!! But, since then, I have quilted 5 quilts on my longarm (too slow, just learning) and I have finally have my Queen of Hearts ready to be quilted. (lots of applique) Had to fit all this in to my daily routine of volunteer work at our Senior Center. (play piano, nutrition reports, serving, etc.)No wonder my house is a mess. Now, to get another quilt loaded on the machine!! This one is a beauty!

Count me in! I haven't been unmotivated, I've just not been able to do much because of rotator cuff surgery in December. But I am SO behind! I still have Christmas gifts to finish! But I cleaned and organized my sewing room yesterday, and got the Dr.'s OK to start quilting again, so I'm drooling over getting started on that. And I'm going to start walking again every day, too, especially now since it's getting warmer.

I realize the original work week is over, but I am taking the opportunity to start a week of intense working!! I have finished a queen size quilt which I am actually going to keep recently!! I have pieced a twin for my one grandaughter, and I am now quilting it...These are big tasks for me since I hand quilt everything...But since I am on disabilty I have unlimited time to work, and waste too much staring at the computer screen etc...I really want to get the twin completed in the week, and cut and piece the next twin, which will be a graduation gift for my best friends daughter to take to college! Now off of here and on to the hand quilting!!

Tomorrow I'm off to buy files/dividers and continuing to sort books and patterns (all my double-ups and "why am I hanging on to this" magazines/patterns/books are being boxed and put in my car so I can drop them at Mum's place for her craft group ladies.

Look forward to seeing your progress and maybe it will keep us all going:)

Well a little update: Me, the lady with puppy and glue problem, have finished a total of 12 more charity quilts and cut most all (over 1000 pieces...3/4 way done) on the three Christmas quilts I am doing. All done in batiks and I don't like one of the batiks I chose so now back the the LQS........That will wait until next week....rest of this week is doc appt, car servicing and a three day quilting retreat for the weekend...Hoping to get a lot of sewing done there. Hope everyone is accomplishing all that they wanted to do.
