I know exactly what you are talking about! Before I ever start a quilt I have to be able to "see" what I want in my head- or there is not point in starting!

I'm not laughing! I am JEALOUS! rotlf! Deciding what to quilt is the hardest part for me! I think about quilting as I go to sleep too, but I have to be careful. If I light up my brain TOO much, I quilt in my sleep all night and toss and turn. I usually plan a huge quilting studio..size, where everything would go, etc. Next thing I know, its morning.

I have about 5 quilts designed and the fabric for three of them already. I always finish one quilt before "starting" another but I consider starting when I begin the sewing and not the planning. ;)
