Too simple! Thanks.

I did that recently too! I got tired of wrestling with larger pieces of fabric. I tell myself that I am going to make one of those extended ironing boards but still haven't done it!

Ever try ironing blocks on a sleeve board? Boy do I miss my ironing board!

You need to make an ironing board out of a tv tray like several on this board did. I didn't want to ruin my set of trays so I just covered a piece of plywood and lay it across one of my trays when I need it. Right now I have a 4' x 5' piece of plywood sitting on a fold away table. Started out with it on my ironing board, but it's easier to just sit at my table and press &/or iron.

Any suggestions for a left hander with the cord always in the way.

I never thought about it... but I am left handed so, I have always had the iron sitting on the little end... WHEEEEE I'm a pioneer and didn't know it!!

My iron plugs into my ironing board and has a place for the ironing board on the wide end. I would be pulling the cord across the ironing all the time. Glad it works for so many of you. Would be incredibly awkward for me and tie my ironing board to the wall instead of out in the center of the floor like I want it. (just a wee bit of claustrophobia here)

"L" isn't it funny how something that simple can make life so much easier.... thanks ....

I also did this and wondered why it took me so long to think of it. Maybe by your sharing no one else will wait till they're 59! (Good one for tips thread, too.)

I use mine this way also
