westalee templates?

Hello-
I am very new to machine quilting. well, actually, I am just not good at it and therefore have no incentive to keep trying <g>...there is a sewing machine store about an hour from me that is having an educator from westalee giving a class on Friday using their templates.

does anyone have any insights? thank you!

Wee worth your time going to see it.....they do amazing things with their rulers....with practice, you can look like a real pro, but they are not cheap....

I have a set of Westalee rulers and they are very easy to use. I think you would enjoy the class I know I would.

Definitely take the class. That said, the only way to improve is to keep practicing. I do a lot of ruler work using the Westalee templates and they are wonderful, but like all Fmq there is a learning curve. I guess the question is what is it that you would like to improve in your quilting? If you are looking to do smooth curves and lines without wobbles, the the rulers will be a good choice. If you want to be able to spend less time marking your quilts, then the rulers will be helpful for that as well.

I would be right in line behind Tartan. Wish a class was available close to my house.

Go for it! I love quilting with the Westalee rulers. Easy to use but does take a little practice.

I bought the set of westalee's and plan on trying them out on a runner this next week. I watched the videos about them at utube and I think they will be fun to use.

My LQS has free classes. The templates are costly as has been said. after a little practice you will get good results. Make sure you know which foot to buy, for high or low shank. If you have a Bernina you will need to buy their adapter.
