Today I was given a pack of Inspira needles at a shop's promotion. Does anyone use these? I read an old post that said her Janome rejected them. I have a Janome and want to know whether I should try these needles or not? Can anyone help?

I have not used them, but I doubt they would hurt your machine. I use Organ needles, never hear of those, but, boy do they work great!

I use those in my viking. I got a free pack with my Viking, they seem the same as Organ. But i am not 100 percent sure.

a rep from the local sewing machine shop spoke at our guild a couple of weeks ago and her report on the Inspira needles was very positive. They have been selling Schmetz needles for several years because of their high quality but she reported that the INspira were not only better quality, but a lot cheaper. I've not tried any myself since my "stash" of needles is so large!

I've always used Schmetz needles just because those were the ones I could find in different sizes and kinds that didn't cost an arm and a leg....will have to check these Inspira needles out! Does anyone know where they can be purchased??? :lol:

That was me. I wouldn't. I don't know why they didn't work but I thought I had a bad needle or something and put a different 1 in and ended up having to take my machine to the shop. It was nicking the bobbin case. Please don't use them in your Janome :thumbdown:

Inspira needles are now recommended rather than Schmetz needles by the Husqvarna dealers. I've used mine and see nothing wrong with them.

One place to buy good needles is Sears. Many forget most Sears stores sells a few sewing supplies. They aren't cheaper but at least they are there.

Sorry, but needles sold at Sears are usually Organ brand. Not nearly as good as Inspira, Schmetz and Klasse'. They are of poorer quality and break easier.

You can use Inspira needles on any machine. They will not hurt your Janome at all. That is pretty silly since your dealer tells you that simply to have you purchase 'Janome' needles. Janome does not make needles. Inspira are made in Brazil and are of very high quality. Iin strength, they are more along the lines of industrial needles. You don't have to change them as often since they are stronger and the eye is slightly larger to help accommodate thicker threads without shredding or looping. I know, I teach on all machines.

I use them; one store here has them that if you buy two packages you get a 3rd one free. I buy the quilting, universal and embroidery ones and any others that I think I might need. I have a Kenmore/Janome and a Viking machine and neither one of them mind so I'm good as long as my machines are happy.

I use Inspira needles and have had no problems with them. My machine is a Viking.

that's the only needle I will put in my Pfaff mid arm machine. You can buy them at JoAnn's.

Just an FYI . . . not surprising that Husqvarna dealers are recommending Insipira needles over SCHMETZ . . . Inspira is owned by Viking Husqvarna.

I really like the Inspira needles and have used them on my Viking but now can't find them in any of our shops.

What we were told at Convention is that Inspira were specifically designed/engineered to work with the high end Viking (and presumably Pfaff and Singer) machines. I like Schmetz better....

I live in Australia and I am wondering if anyone can tell me where I can purchase Inspira quilting needles online in the US as they are very expensive to buy here. I also have a Pfaff and they are the only needles they work wonderful on my machine when I am quilting.

A package of these came with my new Pfaff I just got. They seem to work fine.

Jackie: Here is a link for the Inspira Needles. They are the only needles my new Viking seems to like. But I just made 16 cosmetic bags in the hoop with the SAME needle going through fabric, Soft & Stable, ribbon and stabilizer. And that included doing all the quilting as well. No problem at all, never broke, never even slowed down. It is a titanium needle and they are good for more than 100,000 stitches. The regular (non-titanium) needles are good for 10,000 stitches. I'm loving them so far. I used to use Organ needles and I know even their titanium needle would not have made it this long. Anyhoo, here is the link:

I know my Viking store carries the Inspira needles for their machines. I still have so many of the Schmetz needles I doubt I'll ever have to buy more in my life time.

I haven't tried Inspira since I have a fairly large stash of Schmetz and Organ needles (yes, I AM a sewing supply hoarder and proud of it). If I run low on a particular needle, I may try them though.

Inspira needles are the same needles as Klasse. Both brands are sold for Pfaff and Husqvarna machines. I like them a lot and use them almost exclusively due to their lower cost and equal performance to Schmetz.

So here's the truth about Inspira needles. When SVP - the parent company that owns Singer, (husqvarna) Viking & Pfaff (& white) - bought Singer -- the singer "name" was/is owned by another company that is in no way, shape or form connected to the Singer sewing products that we all know & love from the USA. The Singer name has been sold - over & over. Current SINGER machines have ABSOLUTELY ZERO connection to the original company. Because a different company owns the singer NAME for the notions end of the business, SVP could not continue to sell the needles as "singer" so SVP created the name "Inspira". Inspira needles are standard household sewing machine needles with a flat back & will work just fine with 99% of domestic household sewing machines. They are similar to Schmetz, Organ, Kassel, or any other brand. If you want authentic "singer" needles (for whatever reason) choose Inspira. This is info given to me from SVP

I'd never heard of these before. So I looked it up on Google images. When the package has the 130/705 H configuration on it, it should fit all of our machines that take a "regular" needle. And they do. They should work just fine.

I love these needles. I have less problems with them because the center of the eye is more curved so the thread doesn't shred on it. I don't understand these machines that don't like certain threads or needles. As much as I paid for my machines it better like whatever I give it. This being said, certain sizes of thread requires certain sizes of needles. Sometimes I may have to play with where I sit my spool of thread but my Vikings/Kenmore/Janomes and Brother takes all that I give them.
