I'm enjoying the comments about the color turquoise... and trends, and now it has me wondering...
What about peach? You can hardly find any fabrics in true peach colors these days. Plenty of salmon-rose and orange, but not peach. Is it totally out of vogue right now? Anyone out there that favors peach? |
I can't remember seeing any peach...or too many oranges either for that matter....
|
I had a peach bathroom at one time, and it was the hardest color to match up. Some would be too pink, some too yellow. It seems like once a color is trendy, folks get burned out on it for while. A good example is pink and black - it still reminds me of my grandparent's bathroom!

LOL......... I thought you were talking about me!!!!!!!!!!
|
I like peach, and peaches. but the fabric is somewhat salmon color.
|
peach went out in the 40's didnt it? all the rage back then. Um its ok.. doesnt seem to go much with the rest of the stuff on the market. I like it in a nice t shirt :) of course being so light colored it becomes a magnet for dirt ..and always in all the right spots ..(ps my nickname growing up was Peachy and everyone still loves to slap it on me.. at 48 its not as cute as at 4)
|
Depends on what you call "peach". I once worked in a stationary store where people came to order wedding invitations. If the wedding was peach, nothing would match!
|
I love the color peach. I have one fat quarter that is the perfect peach color for me. I use it to judge the other color peaches. The prettiest peach is usually mixed in with a design on the fabric.

I don't know what to say about orange! Yesterday we had a fabric sales rep stop by, and there were so many yellow-and-orange combinations, especially in the kids' lines. It was almost as though any red, pink or magenta had been replaced with orange.

i have such a hard time finding peach fabric and i sew love it
|
The back of my wifes B-day quilt is peach!!
I love peaches and oranges (and a bananna or two  ) Billy |
I wanted peach fabric so badly years ago that i ended up buying Ritz dye to make my own. sad but true.
|
I like peach, quite a lot, but I have not really tried to buy any lately, so I have not thought about it.
|
I tend to go for the jewel colors more, so peach is really not in my stash at all. Nor are most pastels...they don't go with my complexion! :-)
The pink sweater in my profile pic is actually very pink...not pastel. |
I have a friend whose favorite color is peach. It's hard to find new fabric for her in that color :D
|
I recently used peach in an Asian quilt I made for my Granddaughter's high school graduation quilt, which she has taken to college. It worked nicely in my "original" design, along with coral, aqua, soft gold, brown, greens in the pattern. It's tough to find just the right shade. I think that piece was in my 'stash' for some time.

Have you tried Mary Jo's Cloth Store in Gastonia, NC as a resource.

I don't think it went out in the 40's as in the 80's & early 90's I was into all sorts of crafts and peach was one of the most popular colors. However, I agree it is almost impossible to find now. No peach flowers, no peach ribbon. |
I don't like to eat fruit that I first have to shave.
When you look at the color "peach" it really is not just one flat color. It ranges from yellow to orange. |
Orange is my favorite color. It works beautifully in a quilt. But for years and years it was impossible to find real orange fabric. Plenty of salmon, rust, and yes, PEACH. Orange has since become a popular color, usually a good selection, but reading this topic and thinking about it, you're right. Almost impossible to find a true peach. Maybe that will be my next search.
|
so did I ha ha...
Peach is not a good color to use on walls in the bathroom... you look peachy but you can't tell if you are really sick. |
I love peach but have not tried to purchase any lately. Sounds like I won't have much luck if I need some!
|
Probably not. I looked for it at JoAnn Crafts and there were shades close but looked more pink.

I wanted to make some peach fabric roses awhile back for a friend that loves peach roses. I couldnt' find anything suitable in the entire quilt store. very disappointing...

I too have been trying to find peach colors. decided I wanted to make myself a quilt for my bed as I am changing bedroom colors. I want peaches and browns.. looked high and low can't find anything
|
I thought I found a pretty peach for the quilt my mom and I are making, but she said it is a pale orange. My mom is 83 years old, so I am not sure of her color perception. But, I am 62, so I am not sure of mine either. What do you all think?
