I am taking a PP class right now and she charges 20.00 a class with the pattern. This is a 9 mo. class. So it is costing me 180.00 plus all my fabric. Guess it depends on how bad you want to learn the technique.

When I have taken an evening 7-930Pm each averages at least $15 per night This is what a sampler class was and there were 20 sessions I learned an awful lot in this we had an excellent teacher and each block was a different technique I did a mariners compass Saturday 9-4 cost$45 had to buy book and supplies. I buy a lot of books and once a month a group of us gets together and all pay $5 each cost of hall and door prizepattern copies etc I teach at these for free and pay like everyone it is fun Sometimes we do a Sat 9-4 with a potluck for a bigger project mostly cost for kitchen and hall cost$10 each. What kind of class were you thinking of doing?

This is what I was looking at. The class is a PP pieceing with a kit it is a little expensive but I think for my purposes it is worth it. There are not a lot of classes around me so pricing is non exsistant. Thank you all for your information this really does help!

Ive seen classes cost as much as everyone has listed and more..in our county we are lucky to have a librarian who is an avid quilter...the county pays an expert to give lessons at the library community room for free. Our next class will be on Catheral Windows...cant bet that price

My first quilting class I ever took was the "Beyond the Color Purple" quilt. It was a year long class meeting once a month and I paid $10 a month for it. It was basically for the machine embrodiered blocks. I bought my Pfaff 2144 just to take the class because I loved the blocks and wanted to learn how to do all the fancy embrodiery stuff. Haven't regretted it once. The total class was only $100 but the machine was $6,200 (and worth every penny).

Thanks,

PS the block in my avatar is one of the Beyond the Color Purple blocks.
