In any case, polyesters offer the highest loft. You may need to layer two poly batts in order to get the super high loft you want.

I use Hobbs Polydown alot for my customers I quilt for and it is NOT what is considered a high Loft Batting.

This may not work for you, but when I first started quilting, I wanted a very high loft, and I didn't want to stitch too much. I bought a ...oh, what was it called....a duvet, I think. And I used it like it was the batting of the quilt I was making, as I really wanted it to look like a comforter. I was pleased with the result, though I remember the duvet was "slippery" and I had trouble pinning it to sew. It would have worked better if I had tied it.

Not much help, now that I think about it. I bought it at Joanne's with a 40% off coupon.

It appears every brand of batting has been suggested as " the best". So am wondering what your decision is about choosing the " best high loft batting""
