This was the very most important lesson I ever got after sev. very sloppy jobs. I always thought I could just fix a bad seam. NOT. Got to get that seam in your eye.

THis gives you a little extra to fold back and then you can sq agin and not be short.

I did that once. I was making a Stack n' Whack with the ugliest fabric known to man and I hated working with it, it was really stressful. I tossed it into the garbage and felt great.

There are so many awesome tips here! I have to share two: 1) get a 1/4" presser foot. It will transform your life; 2) there are no mistakes, just opportunities for applique!

I have ordered a 1/4" pressure foot, and the no mistakes only opportunities for applique is too funny

If someone wants the WalMart quilt for $20.00 and won't pay you a decent price for yours... they get what they pay for!

Move on. Figure it out, or move on. That was the best tip I've ever received. No reason to beat yourself up. If you don't get it now, you will possibly get it later. Try something else.

I hated that advice, but it was right.
