I've always just zig-zagged it together on my machine, never no problems, but I think for just a practice piece it should work fine to just spray baste.

yes you can

I'm sure hope the quilt police aren't approaching my house, but I just use a glue stick to stick pieces together. When I'm done quilting my quilt, I can't really tell where the overlap is.

I spray or glue baste my quilts and my practice sammiches.

I whip stitched them and finished the sandwich. Looking forward to quilting tomorrow. Thanks for all your feedback! This group is great.

You can spray baste or hand stitch or buy that tape or use interfacing. Good luck to you and keep practicing.

I used the batting tape available at Hobby Lobby or Joann's...probably available at Walmart and all LQSs. It works great and when you put the quilt together you can't even feel it.

That's what I do too

I butt the edges together. Then, I use the three stitch zigzag stitch on my machine to stitch the edges together. It doesn't leave a 'ridge' like a regular zigzag stitch does. Batting is too expensive to waste.

I did this too before I found batting tape. I'm not going to use my time sewing pieces of batting together.
