What brand fray block do you guys like?
I have used a couple of different brands of fray block and I do like June Tailors brand better of what I have tried - it dries softer. I am wondering what other options are out there... I am starting a project and I think I will be using a lot of fray block so I just want to see what else is out there Can the June Tailor brand be purchased in larger bottles? Thanks

I don't use it as I don't like how the fabric feels after use. If I am doing raw edge appliqué that I want a minimum of fraying, I use batiks. Batiks fray less than regular cotton fabric.

I use clear nail polish

What do you use fray block for? I don't use it at all in my quilting.

I don't use fray block at all on quilting projects- I do use it on the edges of Aida cloth for cross stitch- when the cross stitch project will be framed- if it is to be sewn (like used for a pillow or even in a quilt) I zigzag the edges before working with it. as for what kind- what ever is available when I need it- since I mostly just zigzag and seldom have a need for it....it would be awfully difficult to sew through using it in a quilt & I don't think it washes out-so would create a stiff edge where ever it was put-

I too, use fray block from June Taylor and love it. I use it in crafts and different things but quilting. Don't you all do different things than quilt?

Thank you for your replies. I usually don't use fray block on quilts; however I am making a memory quilt from my nephew's jeans and someone here suggested using fray block because denim tends to fray.... so I don't want my quilt to fall apart so I want to use fray block. KalamaQuilts: Does the clean nail polish dry stiff and hard or is it pliable? June Taylor's is very nice, but the bottles are pretty small for how much I am going to be using. Sewbeadit: I have only seen the June Tailor fray block in one size. Have you seen this in more than 1 size?Overstock has a good price, but I just wish I could get a bigger bottle

I would think once you stitch it should be ok.

I have some Fray check but it dries hard. I think I have some seam sealant but can't remember. I think it's softer. maybe someone else will know http://www.joann.com/dritz-seam-seal...-oz-/prd49255/

I use both Fray Check and Fray Block. I like them equally; but I would never use either on a quilt.
