I want to do something and need to Google it for a few ideas. I have no idea what to Google.

Description:

Let's say I have two layers of fabric. An upper that is blue and a lower that is white. I sew the white under the blue, stitching a design, like a star. Then I cut away the blue fabric, inside of the star. So you can see the white star and the blue frays slightly. Kind of like a window, reverse applique or something.

Is there a name for this technique?

Am I making any sense?!?

its like reverse applique except you'll be leaving a raw edge instead of turning it under as is the case in traditional reverse applique

Yes your are. I call it reverse applique. Great for a little girls sweatshirt as well.

LOL!

I didn't Google reverse applique. I came up with that as I was typing my post, thinking it was a silly way to name the techinque.

Thanks!
