When I was watching Sewing with Nancy the other day, she used a tool that I hadn't seen before for marking around templantes. It made a zipper-like noise as it marked. What is that thing called and where can I get one?

I think it is called Chalk-a-line. It is a tube filled with chalk and there are little teeth that go around at the end of the tube letting the chalk out and you draw with it. They are pretty nifty, but I still use a fine point Sharpie....old eyes, you see....

Was it a Chaco liner?

I still like the fine point Crayola Washable Markers. Washes right out when I'm done with the quilt. I left marks on one quilt for over 6 months and they washed right out in the laundry.
