I'm still having a hard time picturing this. Would it look like this? (Different colours for the HST's, of course).

Jennifer ~ I think that's the block she's looking for.

There is a technique called "Piecing with Poppers" which incorporates a very narrow (1/4" strip) between blocks, sections of blocks or wherever you want them. Can't remember the name of the quilter who does this technique, but I am sure if you google Piecing with Poppers her name and technique will come up. (Her name is Sharon and she is from Rhode Island: Piecingwithpoppers.com)

YES Jennifer23 that is it. I'm having a hard time seeing how to keep the hst even. Can't do long pieces of sashing either for kinda the same reason, that's why I always use corner stones to keep me on track.

If this is what you want, check out the Jenny Doan tutorial that EasyPeezy linked to. It uses a different color instead of black, but otherwise should work.

You can paper piece these squares and that would keep your HST and the narrow black lines even. Just a thought. Easy enough to draft out on graph paper.
