Does anyone have a soloution as to a way of recycling old cutting mats? I am getting ready to throw out about 4 or 5 of them. Can I make anything else out of them?

I use them for the bottom of totes and purses!

What a good question!

Have you used both sides ? If so they make great bottoms in purses and totes.

Great idea, I never thought of that!

What a great idea, using them to stiffen bags!

If there are still smallish areas that are good, cut them into small mats - those are great for when you're squaring up blocks - you can rotate the mat, block and template all at once to make trimming the other two sides of the block easier.

find yourself an old lazy susan and cut you a rotating mat.

Great ideas above. I cut up one of my older ones to make small mats that I can keep right next to my machine for paper piecing (trimming).

Use them to make templates. Especially templates that you are more apt to use over and over again.
