I am a rookie quilter, and I was lucky enough to win a $10 prize in the last Bunny Shop Hop! :-) I chose a Charm Pack of Desert Sun colors, and they are all beautiful batiks in warm colors (wish I could show you the colors but my computer USB ports don't work for me to download any pictures) However, there are only 25 charms. I have been searching for an easy pattern that only uses this number of charms. I found several websites that show an easy disappearing 9 Patch, but my fabric will make only eight blocks, with 7 charms leftover. Would that be enough to make a table runner? I would appreciate any help from all the veteran quilters out there. THANKS! :-)

You don't say what size blocks, but I should think you have enough for a table runner. You would probably have enough for a couple of quilted cushion covers too, that's a great way to start quilting for a beginner.

Depending on the size of block, you could also do a 3 block by 5 block setting, put some borders on it, and maybe have it big enough for a lap quilt. I have several quite smallish quilts that I drape over the backs of sofas just to liven them up a bit.

Sorry, I forgot to put the size. They are only 5" charms so the 9 blocks would be...???? size. Can you tell I'm a rookie????? ;)

This tablerunner tutorial is very simple.

There is also a tablerunner and placemats made raggy style:

Do you have some fabric in your stash that you could put with the charms?

you could frame each square possibly with white or something soft= with possibly 2" strips- that would make your squares 8 1/2" in a 4x6 layout you would have 32"x48" with one charm left over.
5x5=40"x40"...
of course you could use any size frame you wanted- make them 6 1/2" or (24"x36" tablerunner)
