What color sashing?

I am making a Christmas Quilt using the "Dash Away" pattern. I was going for dark and warm and woodsy (Kansas Troubles kind of color scheme) but I'm afraid I got dark and dull. I think the background tan is too dark, but I have 21 of 30 blocks done and it's too late to change it now. I am looking for your opinions on sashing and cornerstones that might help this quilt.
The last photo is of the blocks laid out in Paint, the rest are possible sashings and cornerstones. I am leaning toward tan sashings with red cornerstones or red sashings with gold cornerstones. I will definitely be adding the inner gold border, I think it helps. All of the Fabric (with the exception of the gold) is the 2013 Holly Taylor Christmas collection. It's gorgeous fabric, I just think I planned this thing out wrong, and I would like to do it justice. Opinions and/or suggestions please! |
I vote for either photo # 3 or # 6. Number 5 is interesting, kind of subtle, but may be too much the same tone.

I really like the last one with the red.

and I like the first one - i think that light contrast not found in the other fabrics is the wow factor! good luck!

I like the one with the red.

First sashing too light, second sashing too dark, third sashing just right! The last red sashing is nice too. Your blocks are pretty and more contrast with the sashing will be nice.

Love the red. Really gives me the Christmas feel.

What about a white on white (if you could find white snowflakes on a white background) with a bright red cornerstones. Have you tried black sashing with a white cornerstone as an idea? I like the skinny outer gold border, but not the green. Sashing and outer border black might make blocks pop a bit more.

I like the last one best!

I like the red with gold.
