Gutterman has a nice blend of both cream and beige on one spool. Its a mix of two colors. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7ddeRfDTii...0/100_2796.JPG
The large spool on the right side would be nice.

I'd use cream. I can't think of a manufacture making a variegated that would match.

I like the light green idea. I generally want minimal contrast of the thread and the backing.
