What color thread

I'm just about ready to quilt a border on a brown and aqua quilt. My question is on the brown border should I use brown thread or a lighter brown, aqua or what? I'm going to be doing feathers if that matters. Thanks
Pat

imho, think aqua will showcase your quilting, the lighter brown will probably showcase the quilt itself :o

Depends upon the look you want. If you want the feathers on the border to stand out, a lighter thread would emphasize them. If you want less focus on the border (but nice quilting texture) go for the darker, matching brown thread.

Ditto on this! :)

I really depends on the shade of the color of the thread and how they look on the fabrics. Wish you had posted a photo.

Are you a good quilter? If so, the more contrasting color could look great. If you are (like me) a so so quilter, the more matching thread will cover your mistakes.

Thanks everyone, I'm using a multi brown/beige and it's look beautiful. I thought the aqua wouldn't like right so I was scared to try it. I should have tried it on scrap brown I know but when I remembered I had the multicolored thread I thought "how could I go wrong". lol
